Works at Old Pelion Hut

Apr. 21, 2015

A around a century old, Old Pelion Hut has been undergoing some much needed renovation work lately, including new wooden stumps. The 900m detour to the hut is well worthwhile to get a feel for a simpler time when miners and cattlemen called the hut home, as well as an insight into the bush carpentry skills of those that made the structure.

Narcissus Hut renovation

Apr. 6, 2015

As many Overlanders know, the Narcissus Hut, at the top of Lake St Clair, was in pretty rough shape – battered, rotting and with more holes in it than a colander.

The hut has recently been extensively renovated, including a new roof, tent platforms, front verandah and bunks. The work will make it a much better (and less mouse infested) place to rest a night.
